|
To promote progress in the broad field of mechanics by (1) exposing mature engineers and scientists, including graduate students, to new research findings, techniques, and problems, and (2) providing opportunities for personal interactions between mechanicians of North and South America, as well as other continents, through formal presentations and informal contacts. It is the only conference sponsored by the American Academy of Mechanics. |

The Pan American Congresses of Applied Mechanics are held
every two years early in January, always in a Latin American venue, at a
time when few other conferences are scheduled. Previous congresses were: |
